KYOHO WINERY

Concept

From Fruits To The Fine Wine

Kyoho Winery is the oldest winery in Fukuoka, located in the forest of Tanushimaru, Kurume-shi,
where Kyoho grape was first grown in Japan.

We commit brewing fine fruit wines from seasonal fruits grown with great care by local farmers.

This wine brewing cannot exist without local farmers.

We are honored to be able to represent farming community.

From Fruits To The Fine Wine

History

First Kyoho Wine In Japan

The first Kyoho Wine was made in 1972 as we had strong desire of
producing a fine wine, containing 100% kyoho grape, which has been
known to be one of the most difficult fruits to brew.

The Wakatekeya Sake Brewery’ s 13th generation of the chief brewer,
Denbei Hayashida spent 10 years to invent the first Kyoho Wine after the 12th generation of the chief brewer,
Hiroyuki Hayashida first planted Japan-originated kyoho grapes with local farmers in Tanushimaru-cho.

Fruit Wine as Gift From The Nature

We brew quality wines by hand, using fresh local fruits.

Each wine brewed from seasonal fruits has harmonious flavors that go well with Japanese foods.

The smaller sized winery allows us to brew handmade high quality fruit wines.
